Giving Tuesday is a day that encourages people to support causes near and dear to them. At the Nebraska Humane Society, we strive to improve the wellbeing of animals both under our roof and in our community. On Giving Tuesday, a generous donor has offered to match all donations up to $100K.

That means your donation will provide pets with twice the number of lifesaving care, rescue from neglectful or dangerous situations and, ultimately, adoptions into loving homes.

NHS Wine Fest is like “Brew at the Zoo,” but “Wine Tasting at the Animal Shelter” doesn’t have quite the same ring to it.

Join NHS Friends Forever as we raise a glass for the animals at our annual Wine Fest. Our adoptable pets provide entertainment! AND we will also have talented, local artists – Jimmy D & TwiLea – in attendance.

Your ticket will allow you to taste exquisite wine, snack on an impressive charcuterie board, enjoy live music, bid on several silent auction items and say hello to the cutest guests you’ve ever seen at a wine tasting!

2025 Wine Fest
Thursday, Dec. 4, 2025
6-8 p.m.
Nebraska Humane Society (8929 Fort Street)

Sponsored by: Joan Moritz & Kami Lamb

Tickets are limited, so get yours today here!
Check back soon to see the Silent Auction.

*The food and wine selections for this tasting have already been chosen. We will not be able to accommodate for any food allergies or dietary restrictions.

Furrrst Fridays are a tail waggin’ good time.

Every First Friday of the month, NHS partners with the Omaha Public Library to offer reading to shelter pets.

  •        Kiddos accompanied by an adult can choose a book (or bring their favorite)
  •        Pick a dog or cat (or critter) who needs a little attention.
  •        Reading to them helps ease anxiety, and they really like the TLC!
  •        We have treats to toss to dogs
  •        Often have a few other activities like dog bingo, or sidewalk chalk decorating!

Drop in any time between 3-6 p.m. to join in on the fun! No registration is needed, and you can arrive any time between 3-6!
